BCI · Crimson
Control HAND 2.0 with the Crimson BCI on Mac.
Upload the HAND project first, release its serial port, pair the Bluetooth headband, and reconnect the HAND from BCI Connect.
Have these ready
One headband, one HAND, two connections.
Crimson + HAND 2.0
Complete these steps in order.
Step 1
Connect HAND 2.0 in mBlock
Put the HAND switch under CODE, connect its USB-C data cable, and use the Mac setup guide to connect in mBlock. Keep mLink 2 open.
Step 2
Upload the official brainwave-control project
Download and open brainwave_control_1_updated.mblock. Select the HAND’s port in mBlock, upload the project, and wait for the success message.
Step 3
Release the HAND’s serial port
After the upload succeeds, unplug HAND 2.0 and close or finalize its mBlock connection. This is required because BCI Connect cannot use a serial port that mBlock still holds.
Step 4
Pair the Crimson headband in Chrome
Turn on computer Bluetooth and open NeuroMaker BCI Connect in Chrome. Hold the Crimson power button for five seconds, ignore the first vibration, and continue until the blue light flashes rapidly. Click Scan, select the headband, then choose Pair or Connect.
Step 5
Fit the three sensors against bare skin
Put on the Crimson in the correct direction with all three metallic sensors touching bare skin at the center of the forehead. Adjust the fit until the EEG and attention graphs begin changing.
Step 6
Reconnect HAND 2.0 in BCI Connect
Plug the HAND back in and turn it on. Open the Serial control in BCI Connect and select the NeuroMaker HAND from the list.
Step 7
Test the sample with the mechanism clear
Watch the attention graph while testing. The introductory sample closes the hand when attention is above 50 and opens it at 50 or below. Keep fingers, hair, clothing, and cables away from the moving joints.
Upload in mBlock → unplug the HAND → close the mBlock connection → connect the headband → plug the HAND back in → choose it under Serial in BCI Connect.
NeuroMaker BCI is educational equipment. It does not read thoughts and does not shock the wearer. Attention and meditation scores are algorithm outputs, not medical measurements; do not use them for diagnosis or research-quality conclusions.
